Who is sponsoring this raffle? The AZ Game & Fish Commission awarded 10
Special Big Game Tags to the Arizona Big Game Super Raffle (AZBGSR) for the purpose of conducting this raffle. The AZBGSR is a non-profit organization. A volunteer Board of
Directors made up of representatives from sponsoring organizations oversees the operation of the raffle. Click here to see a complete list of these organizations.
Where does the money go? These Special Tags are designed to earn money for
wildlife and wildlife management. All the money collected per species will be spent for that species by statute.
Does all the money stay in Arizona? Yes.
How are the expenses of the raffle being covered? No administrative costs
will be taken from the Special Tags raffle ticket sales. Ticket sales from the Optics Package, as well as contributions from each of the sponsoring organizations will cover
costs for publicity, printing, postage, processing, etc. All the time spent by the Board of Directors organizing and conducting the raffle is being done on a volunteer basis.
When can I expect to receive my tickets? You will not receive tickets
. All ticket orders are processed by an independent professional accounting service and tickets are computer generated with your name, address, city, state, zip, and phone number and
the species/item that you have purchased a ticket(s) for. These tickets will be placed into separate raffle barrels at the time of the public drawing. If you purchase more than one
item they will all be computer generated prior to the drawing. If you purchase an “All Eleven” package, a ticket for the New Mexico Incentive Trophy Elk Hunt will
automatically be produced for you as well.
Will I receive a receipt or confirmation?
Your receipt is your canceled check, credit card statement, or online sales receipt.
When is the deadline for ordering?
Mail orders must be RECEIVED at our PO Box no later than July 9, 2010. Online sales will continue until July 11, 2008, EXACT TIME TO BE ANNOUNCED .
Are there any refunds? NO - all sales are final.
Is there a limit on the number of tickets that will be sold?
No. The more tickets sold, the more money generated for wildlife management.
Is there any limit on the number of tickets an individual can purchase? No
I don’t live in Arizona. Can I enter the drawing?
Yes, non-residents may apply. This includes residents outside the United States, provided you pay in U.S. funds.
If I have already taken a Sheep or Buffalo in
Arizona, can I enter to win one of these in this raffle? Yes. The Special Raffle Tags are not governed by yearly or lifetime bag limits.
Can one person win more than one of the hunts? Yes. If you
are lucky enough, you could win them all.
If I win a raffle tag is the hunt guided? No. You may hunt on your own, or
choose to hire a guide to help you on your hunt. No guide service will be provided. (Rule applies to the Arizona tags, not the New Mexico Incentive Elk Hunt)
When is the Season? The Season Dates for all Arizona tags in the Raffle begin on August 15, 2010 and end on August 14, 2011.
If I win a raffle tag, where can I hunt?
You can hunt statewide, with some exceptions. Hunt units for each species are specified in Arizona Game & Fish Commission Order 29. Please refer to our Rules page for more specific information about Commission Order 29 and where you can hunt.
If I win a raffle tag, do I need to purchase a hunting license? No. You
will not need to purchase an Arizona Hunting License. You will receive a license to hunt for the species you won.
If I win a tag can I sell it? NO
If I win a raffle tag, can I transfer it to someone else?
Yes, with some restrictions. Upon notification of winning a tag, you can request the tag be issued in someone else’s name. Once the tag is issued, there are only two ways the tag can be transferred per AZ Game & Fish Commission Rules:
1. Compassionate Transfer 2. Transferred to a Minor child of the person the tag was issued to
If I win a raffle tag will it impact my Bonus Points in Arizona’s regular draw?
No. The Special Raffle Tags are separate from the regular Spring & Fall Draw. Your Bonus Points will not be affected by winning a tag in the Arizona Big Game Super Raffle.
If I win a raffle tag does this impact my ability to hunt that species in Arizona’s
regular draw, if I draw a tag? No. The Special Raffle Tags are separate from the regular Spring & Fall Draw. Theoretically, you could win a raffle tag and
be drawn in the regular draw for the same species. If that happened, you could harvest two animals of that species in the same year.
Since Arizona has a “Once in a Lifetime” bag limit on Buffalo and Desert Bighorn
Sheep, will winning a raffle tag prevent me from drawing a Sheep or Buffalo tag in the future?
No. The Special Raffle Tags are not governed by yearly or lifetime bag limits.
When and where will the drawing be held? During
a public drawing July 15, 2010 at the Arizona Game & Fish Department Headquarters in Phoenix, AZ
Do I need to be present at the drawing to win? No.
If I win, how will I know?
Winners will be contacted by phone during and immediately following the public drawing. A list of winners names along with their city & state will also published on this website as
soon as possible following the drawing.
If I don’t win, will I get my money back?
No. This raffle is separate from the regular Spring and Fall Draws and deals with a fundraiser for the Commission’s Special Tags. If you are not drawn, you will not
receive a refund. All sales final - no refunds.
